DUSHANBE, August 6, Asia-Plus — Internationally branded German Concern Volkswagen (VW) has got domain name within Tajikistan’s domain zone – VW.TJ, information resource for distribution of address space within Internet, info.nic.ru, reported.
According to info.nic.ru, this domain name had been previously utilized by the concern, but then, it was obtained by a private individual as expired domain name.
The VW representatives have got in touch with him to buy the domain name back. After nearly month-long negotiations, VW has bought the domain name for some $2,000, info.nic.ru said.
Another domain name within the TJ domain zone, HI.TJ, was sold recently. Its new owner has spent $900 for this domain name, making up his collection, which includes HI.RU and HI.KZ.
The first registered two-lettered domain names within the TJ domain zone are PC.TJ and ON.TJ. Ex-owner of these domain names is a leading employee of Tajikistan’s fixed-line telecommunications network, Tajik Telecom. The domain names were sold to Russian entrepreneur for 50,000 Russian rubles (RR). According to specialist, the price of PC.Tj alone may reach $1,500-$2,000, the website said.
