DUSHANBE, July 10, 2008, Asia-Plus –  Khorog State University will accept 598 students in the new academic year, Murodbek Zarifbekov, executive secretary of the selection commission at Khorog State University, told Pamir Media today.  

According to him, the commission has received applications and documents since July 7.  “This academic year, 29 faculties at our University will accept 598 students,” said Zarifbekov.  “313 students will study in federally funded groups and 285 students will study on contractual basis (paid groups).”

Studying in paid groups costs from $300 to $600 per year, depending on the faculty, the executive secretary said. 

He noted that 42 students will enter the university by presidential quota.
