DUSHANBE, December 15, 2014, Asia-Plus — The board (Shuro) of Tajikistan’s lower house (Majlisi Namoyandagon) of parliament discussed a draft law on electronic document at a December 15 meeting presided over by the Majlisi Namoyandagon speaker, Shukurjon Zuhurov, Muhammadato Sultonov, a spokesman for the Majlisi Namoyandagon, told Asia-Plus in an interview.

An electronic document is any electronic media content (other than computer programs or system files) that are intended to be used in either an electronic form or as printed output.

Sultonov says the board also discussed issues related to ratification of a number of cooperation agreements, including a government-to-government agreement between Tajikistan and Latvia on cooperation in combating terrorism, organized crime and drug trafficking, an agreement on cooperation between the interior ministries of Tajikistan and Afghanistan, a government-to-government agreement between Tajikistan and Bahrain on encouragement and reciprocal protection of investments, an agreement between Tajikistan and the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) on Fael Khair Program for construction of mobile clinics in rural areas, and a convention between Tajikistan and Saudi Arabia on the avoidance of double taxation and the prevention of fiscal evasion with respect to taxes on income.
