According to her, the seminar of such kind had been conducted in Tajikistan fro the first time.  “The seminar is part of the program for raising disaster preparedness at all levels of public health,” the information officer said, noting that the seminar participants learned how to provide first aid to ease psychological suffering of victims of emergencies.

Gulnora Poulodova, coordinator of the program for strengthening disaster preparedness at all levels of public health, said that it had been decided to include the ‘human psychological state’ component into the program in order to improve psychosocial rehabilitation skills of medical personnel in the provinces.

The program for raising disaster preparedness at all levels of public health, implemented with funding assistance from ECHO (European Commission Humanitarian Aid Office) in partnership with WHO (World Health Organization), targets five pilot districts in Tajikistan: Rasht, Roghun, Tavildara, Qumsngir and Jomi.
