A 24-year-old woman from Dushanbe has been detained on suspicion of carjacking (the word is a portmanteau of car and hijacking).
According to the Interior Ministry’s website, she was detained yesterday morning while hijacking Toyota-Corolla belonging to a 23-year-old resident of the Vose district, Khatlon province.
Criminal proceedings have been instituted against the alleged car thief and an investigation is under way.
