By President’s instruction Prime Minister Qohir Rasoulzoda has reportedly inspected the Nassojii Tojik Production Association (Dushanbe textile plant).

The prime minister has assessed current functioning of the Dushanbe textile plant, which had been the leader of Tajikistan’s textile industry in former times, as unsatisfactory, a source at the Prime Minister Secretariat told Asia-Plus in an interview.

Rasoulzoda reportedly ordered to set up a special working group to analyze the current situation at the plant and ways to increase its capacity.

He demanded that the situation should be put right in the shortest time and set precise tasks to bring the situation back to normal, according to the source.

The prime minister reportedly ordered to deliver the state-of-the-art equipment to the enterprise, attract private capital for extension of the plant’s production capacity, create new jobs and increase production of import-substituting products.

Built in 1966, the Dushanbe textile plant now consists of three spinning mills and one engineering works.
