The Interior Ministry announces the arrest of a heavy debtor  of Open Joint-Stock Company (OJSC) Tojiksodirotbonk (TSB).

The Interior Ministry’s website reported on June 13 that a 45-year resident of Dushanbe has been detained on suspicion of not repayment of debts taken from Tojiksodirotbonk

On April 13, 2015, he reportedly took a 43,000 somoni loan from TSB’s branch in Roudaki district for three months and has not repaid it so far.

Later on, he reportedly took 30,000 U.S. dollars in loan from the same branch of Tojiksodirotbonk for the period of one year and has not repaid it as well.

Thus, the damage caused by the man to Tojiksodirotbonk is now estimated at some 57,000 U.S. dollars, according to the Interior Ministry’s website.

Criminal proceedings have reportedly been instituted against the man under the provisions of Article 246 of Tajikistan’s Penal Code – loan embezzlement; an investigation is under way.
