KHUJAND, April 14, 2009, Asia-Plus – Top managers of three Sughd construction companies face charge of embezzlement of state funds (9,500 somoni) that have been allocated for casting and erecting a bronze bust of Abu Abdullo Roudaki in Sughd’s Bobojonghafurov district, according to press service of the Sughd police directorate.
The Khujand city prosecutor’s office has instituted criminal proceedings against top managers of the limited liability companies Sokhtmoni Dehot (Ismon Okhounov), Vang-Pat (Zohir Nizomov) and Manfiati Tijorat (Bahodur Tohirov) under the provisions of Article 245, Part 2 of Tajikistan’s Penal Code – embezzlement or misappropriation.
Acting in collusion with each other, Okhounov, Nizomov and Tohirov prepared forged documents and embezzled 9,500 somoni allocated from the Bobojoghafurov district budget for casting the bronze bust of founder of the Tajik-Persian classical literature. An investigation is under way.
