Tajikistan’s lower house (Majlisi Namoyandagon) of parliament (Majlisi Oli) has endorsed a bill requiring amendments to the country’s law on other mandatory payments to the budget.

A regular sitting of the Majlisi Namoyandagon, presided over by its head, Shukurjon Zuhurov, was held on February 6.

Presenting the bill to lawmakers, the Minister of Economic Development and Trade, Nematullo Hkmatullozoda, said the rate of payment for permit to construct residential buildings and shops in Dushanbe set by the government ranges from 165 to 220 somoni per square meter.

According to him, the received funds will be transferred to a special account that will be opened by the Ministry of Finance.

The federally funded organizations constructing industrial and social facilities as well as tourism infrastructure are exempted from paying this fee, the minister added.
