Rahmon signs law on amendments made to the country’s law on the Tajik capital status

Amendments made to the country’s law on the Tajik capital status, in particular, provide for instituting mayoral awards to residents of the city making contribution to its development.  

On Friday April 5, President Emomali Rahmon signed a number of laws adopted by the Majlisi Namoyandagon (Tajikistan’s lower house of parliament) and seconded by the Majlisi Milli (Tajikistan’s upper chamber of parliament), according to the Tajik president’s official website.  

The head of state reportedly signed the laws on making amendments to the Tajik capital status, local government bodies, moratorium on inspection of industrial production facilities, and other mandatory payments to the budget.

Rahmon also signed laws on making amendments to the country’s customs and tax codes.  

Amendments made to the country’s law on the Tajik capital status provide for instituting mayoral awards to residents of the city making contribution to its development, creating the city emblem and establishing the Tajik capital development fund.

Under the changes and addenda made to the moratorium on inspection of industrial production facilities, the industrial production facilities will be exempted from inspection during the period from 2019 to 2021.

Changes and addenda made to the country’s customs and tax codes, in particular, provide for  exempting raw materials being imported into the country for manufacturing final output will be exempted from customs duties and added value tax (VAT).
