President Emomali Rahmon has introduced a number of staff changes. Thus, Saadi Qodirzoda has been relieved of his post of head of the Antimonopoly Agency under the Government of Tajikistan in connection with transfer to other job.
According to the Tajik president’s official website, Saadi Qodirzoda was appointed deputy head of President’s Executive Office.
Ikromiddin Valizoda, who had previously served as deputy head of the Agency for Standardization, Metrology, Certification and Trade Inspection (Tojikstandart) under the Government of Tajikistan, was appointed to head the Antimonopoly Agency.
By president’s decree Khurshed Ismoilzoda, formerly deputy head of the Tax Committee under the Government of Tajikistan, was appointed chairman of the Directorate for Strategic Planning and Reforms at President’s Executive Office.
Faizullo Faizullozoda was appointed deputy head of the Directorate of Economy at President’s Executive Office.
First deputy head of the Committee on Architecture and Construction under the Government of Tajikistan, Abdukarim Abduhalimzoda was retired for age reasons.
By government’s decree Khairddn Hukmiddinzoda was appointed Deputy Minister of Defense.
Recall, it was the Antimonopoly Agency headed by Saadi Qodirzoda that announced on March 4 that as of March 27, mobile telecommunication services providers will be able to sell online data for no less than 0.05 somoni per megabyte (twofold increase) and the price for one minute of mobile international call, including NGN communications, will amount to no less than 1.20 somoni (tenfold increase).
The March 4 order was justified by a curious interpretation of the law of supply and demand. Rajabali Mahsiddinov, an official with the Antimonopoly Agency, noted that mobile operators would now be in a position to provide better online speeds. According to him, they commit to increase the Interne speed from 512 megabyte per second to 1,024 megabyte per second. “Besides, mobile operators should provide 4G and LTE communications in the whole territory of the country,” Mahsiddinov said.
Calls through messengers also rose in cost in Tajikistan. Now the price of one minute of call through messenger to a mobile phone number costs 0.25 somoni (more than twofold increase).
