Tajikistan will significantly reduce funding for the energy sector next year.

Next year, according to the plans of the Government of Tajikistan, significantly less financial resources will be allocated for the development of the energy sector compared to 2019.

The state budget of Tajikistan for the current year on the development of the fuel and energy complex provides for the allocation of 4.1 billion somoni.

The developers of the draft state budget of Tajikistan for 2020 offer the government of the republic to allocate about 3.5 billion somoni for the development of the fuel and energy sector, which is 14.7% or 601 million somoni less than in the current year, reported in the government of Tajikistan.

According to the source, the decrease in funding next year is motivated by the fact that next year they will not build high-voltage power lines.
