DUSHANBE, May 8, Asia-Plus – Acceleration of progress of implementation of the Dushanbe solid waste management project was a major topic of a May 8 meeting of the capital mayor Mahmadsaid Ubaidulloyev with new resident representative of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) in Dushanbe Matthieu Le Blan.   

Shavkat Saidov, a spokesman for the Dushanbe mayor, said that during the meeting it had been noted that Sweden’s SWECO International AB is currently studying the sanitary situation in the city to prepare feasibility study for the project.  

The two also discussed other issues related to rehabilitation and development of the Dushanbe city infrastructure, the spokesman said.  

The proposed is aimed to improve the collection, recycling and disposal of solid waste in Dushanbe.
