At a meeting of the Central Commission on Elections and Referendums of Tajikistan on September 13, five presidential candidates were officially registered in the elections scheduled for October 11.

The incumbent president of the republic, leader of the People's Democratic Party Emomali Rahmon, leader of the Agrarian Party Rustam Latifzoda, the Socialist Party Abdukhalim Gafforov, the Communist Party – Miroj Abdulloev and the Party of Economic Reforms Rustam Rakhmatzoda are officially registered as presidential candidates.

The CEC will consider the issue of official registration of the leader of the Democratic Party of Tajikistan Saidjafar Usmonzoda as a presidential candidate on September 14.

Recall that the Social Democratic Party of Tajikistan decided to boycott the presidential elections.
