Minister of Education and Science of Tajikistan Mahmadyusuf Imomzoda and Minister of Public Education of Uzbekistan Sherzod Shermatov will take part in the ceremony of delivery of a new secondary school in Spitamen district of Sughd region, a source in the administration of the head of Sughd region said.

A school for 640 pupils was built and equipped at the expense of the state budget of the neighboring state. The agreement on its construction was signed during the state visit of the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoev to Tajikistan in March 2018.

The school opening ceremony is scheduled for September 27. 

According to bilateral agreements, in addition to the school in Spitamen, the Uzbek side is building a hospital with 200 beds in the Kubodiyon district of Khatlon region.

Tajikistan, for its part, also announced the construction of a school in the city of Samarkand for 640 pupils and the construction of a preschool institution in the Rishtan district of Fergana region.
