FSB officers prevent terror attacks in the Moscow region, a man originated in Central Asia detained

The Federal Security Service (FSB) has prevented terrorist attacks in the Moscow region that were being plotted by members of the cell of the Islamic State (IS) terror group, the press service of Russia’s FSB reported on November 25. 

A man originated in Central Asia has reportedly been detained.    

Members of the IS terror group cell were going to commit terrorist attacks in the Moscow region.  One of goals of the cell was also to recruit new members into the terror group and finance terrorism, the FSB press service said.

A homemade explosive device has reportedly been seized.

Criminal proceedings have been instituted and an investigation is under way.
