On December 3, 2020, Resident Representative of the Aga Khan Development Network (AKDN) in Tajikistan Qozidavlat Qoimdodov met with Mr. Mulugeta Zewdie, newly appointed UNHCR Representative to Tajikistan

According to press release issued by the AKDN, during the meeting, the sides have discussed issues of bilateral relations and further strengthening of effective cooperation in various fields between the AKDN and the UNHCR in Tajikistan.

The main topic of discussion was assistance to refugees of Tajikistan in creating adequate access to education, health care, employment opportunities, of which there are more than five thousand.  Stress was done on the creation of a legal framework that adapts to achieve the set goals in joint efforts with the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan and development partners.

The parties have expressed their interest to further develop mutual beneficial collaborations.
