DUSHANBE, March 26, Asia-Plus – Henry Bolton, the OSCE Senior Border Issues Advisor, arrived in Tajikistan today for a three-day working visit, according to the Tajik MFA.   

During his stay in Tajikistan, Bolton is scheduled to hold talks with the First Foreign Deputy Minister, Saymoumin Yatimov, Drug Control Agency head Rustam Nazarov, Customs Service chief Gurez Zaripov and other high-ranking officers from Tajikistan’s law enforcement agencies.  

In the meantime, Ambassador Herbert Salber, the head of the OSCE”s Conflict Prevention Center, and Katlin (phonetically spelled) Samuel, Senior Adviser to the OSCE”s Conflict Prevention Center, also arrived in Dushanbe today.  They are expected to meet with leadership of the Tajik MFA and hold a working meeting OSCE-Tajikistan in Dushanbe tomorrow.   

Besides, Ambassador Rolf Ekeus, OSCE High Commissioner on National Minorities (HCNM), will arrive in Tajikistan this week.  During his stay in Tajikistan, Ambassador Ekeus is scheduled to meet with President Emomali Rahmon, Foreign Minister Hamrokhon Zaripov, State Adviser to the Tajik President for Social Matters and Public Relations Karomatullo Olimov and Education Minister Abdujabbor Rahmonov.  Ekeus will also visit the Khatlon province and hold meeting with the Khatlon governor Ghaybullo Avzalov.  

According to the OSCE Center in Dushnabe, such unofficial working meetings are held annually.
