Tajik Ambassador to Kabul clarifies Dushanbe’s position on Taliban government

Date:

In Kabul, the Ambassador of Tajikistan to Afghanistan Sadi Sharifi met with the coordinator of the United Nations Assistance Mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA) Mette Nudsen.

Mette Nudsen stated that UNAMA intends to increase cooperation with states bordering Afghanistan.

In her opinion, such cooperation in the light of recent events in Afghanistan is becoming very important., reported by the diplomatic mission of Tajikistan in Kabul.

The Ambassador of Tajikistan said that the position of Tajikistan on Afghanistan, which was announced by President Emomali Rahmon during a meeting with the Foreign Minister of Pakistan on August 25, remains unchanged.

Then the leader of Tajikistan proposed to create an inclusive government in Afghanistan with the participation of the Tajiks of this country.

Emomali Rahmon then said that about 46% of the population of Afghanistan are Tajiks, and this must be taken into account when forming a new government in Kabul.
