A four-day working visit of President Emomali Rahmon to the northern province of Sughd is underway. 

On April 15, Emomali Rahmon attended an official opening ceremony of weaving and sewing workshop at Sughdpak (package-producing enterprise) in the city of Buston, according to the Tajik president’s official website.   

On Friday, President Rahmon also visited Bobojon-Ghafourov district, where he inaugurated asphalt plant launched by Somoni Ltd (mechanized work enterprise).

The asphalt plant was built in the Rukhak area of Ghoziyon jamoat.

Somoni Ltd owner Jamshed Naimov has invested 3 million somonis in this project, which included construction of the plant and installation of the state-of-the-art equipment, the Tajik president’s official website says.  

The plant is reportedly capable of producing 120 tons of high-quality asphalt per hour.  A sand and gravel processing line is expected to be introduced into operation at this asphalt plant in the near future.

While in Ghoziyon jamoat, Emomali Rahmon also visited an irrigation system and an orchard of the Somoni farming unit.   

Over the first the months of this year, seven new enterprises and production lines have been introduced into operation in the Bobojon-Ghafourov district.

More than 700 small and large enterprises are expected to be built in Sughd province by 2026.  This year alone, 145 of them will be built in the area, with 20 of them being located in Bobojon-Ghafourov district.
