Former mayor of Bokhtar appointed deputy mayor of the Tajik capital

By president’s decree Sijouddin Salomzoda was relieved of his post of Mayor of Bokhtar, the capital of Khatlon Province, on January 11 in connection with transfer to other job. 

A source within the Bokhtar administration says Salomzoda was appointed Deputy Major of Dushanbe, replacing Umed Gurezzoda, who was appointed Chairperson of Dushanbe’s Firdavsi District.

Mr. Salomzoda will be in charge of issues related to trade and economic development (trade, services including market prices). 

Sijouddin Salomzoda had served as Mayor of Bokhtar since 2020.

Prior to this, he served as Mayor of Isfara in Sughd Province (from 2018 to 2020).

From 2015 to 2018, Sijouddin Salomzoda served as Mayor of Tursunzoda (city subordinate to the center).

From 2013 to 2015, Salomzoda headed the Service on Supervision of Safety in Industry and Mining.

From 2011 to 2013, he served as Secretary of the Supervisory Board, etc. Tajikistan founded OJSC NBO Roghun. 

Sijouddin Salomzoda, 58, graduated from Tashkent State Technical Institute named after Abu Raihan al-Beruni with a degree in geophysics.
