President Emomali Rahmon has introduced staff changes to the Main Border Guard Directorate functioning under the State Committee for National Security (SCNS).
The Tajik president’s official website says that by president’s decree of August 7 Nasimjon Rajabzoda was relieved of his post of the First Deputy Commander of the Border Troops in connection with transfer to other job.
By president’s decree Hikmatullo Pirakzoda, who had previously served as Chief of the Border Guard Directorate for Sughd Province, replaced him as the First Deputy Commander of the Border Troops under the SCNS.
By president’s decree Tojiddin Shohvalizoda was appointed the Deputy Commander of the SCNS Border Troops in charge for intelligence issues, replacing Kishvarsho Khoushvakht.
By president’s decree Umar Umarzoda was appointed to head the Border Guard Directorate for Sughd Province.
The Tajik president’s official website says commanders of border guard detachments in the Gorno Badakhshan Autonomous Region (GBAO), Khatlon and Sughd provinces and chiefs of some other structural units of the SCNS Border Troops were also replaced.
The Border Troops, also called the Border Service, is the border guard of Tajikistan. Functioning under the State Committee for National Security (SCNS), the border guards are trained by the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE), along with the Afghan Border Police. A higher education college is located in the capital, Dushanbe, the Border Troops Academy, and a Border Troops Training Center is located south of it, in Roudaki district. The main control station of the border troops is the Border Management Center of the Main Border Guard Directorate of the SCNS.
