China and the United States continue to be the main donors to Tajikistan

Tajikistan in January-July of this year received humanitarian aid in the amount of about $ 43.5 million, according to the country's statistical office.

The aid, the total weight of which was 18 thousand tons, came from 51 countries of the world.

The main donors in terms of aid cost were China (29.0% of the total cost) and the USA (25.2%).

Also, a comparatively high proportion had Belgium (10.7%), Russia (8.0%), Kazakhstan (4.2%), Turkey (2.9%), Denmark (2.7%), India (2.6%), Uzbekistan (1.9%), Germany (1.6%), Sweden and South Korea (1.5%), France (1.4%), the Netherlands (1.0%).

The amount of aid received for seven months of this year is 39.5 million less in value than in the same period of 2022.

The number of donors decreased to 51 from 56 countries compared to the same period last year.

The authorities do not provide media representatives with data on the distribution of humanitarian aid among those in need in Tajikistan.
