The Dushanbe-Khorog highway is still closed for traffic as a rockfall occurred near the village of Kevron in Darvoz district of the Gorno Badakhshan Autonomous Region (GBAO) Monday (October 16) morning, at around 11:10 am, according to the Ministry of Transport (MoT).

An official source at a MoT says a number of vehicles have bene stranded there.  No injured was reported, according to the source.

The work on clearing the highway of rocks is under way and the highway is expected to reopen for traffic soon, the source added.
