Head of the state inspectorate for explosives control detained on suspicion of bribery

High-ranking official has been caught red-handed while taking bribe, according to the press center of the Agency for State Financial Control and Combating Corruption.  

The anticorruption agency says Saydamir Fayziddin, the Head of the State Inspectorate for Explosives Control at the State Service for Supervision over the Safe Conduct of Work in Industry and Mining under the Government of Tajikistan, has been detained on suspicion fraud.

He demanded 23,000 somonis from citizen “A” for the issuance of a license for conducting mine surveying and using production facilities being at risk of fire, according to the anticorruption agency press center.

Fayziddin has reportedly been caught red-handed while taking the bride.  

Criminal proceedings have been instituted against Saydamir Fayziddin under the provisions of Article 247 of Tajikistan’s Penal Code – fraud; an investigation is under way.
