In Tajikistan in 2023, more than 160 officials have been held accountable for land-related manipulations

Date:

In Tajikistan, cases of falsification of land-use rights documents, illegal transfer, buying and selling of land, arbitrary seizure of land plots, and other violations have not disappeared, said President Emomali Rahmon at a government meeting this week. The text of his speech was published by the presidential press service on the official website.

According to him, there are also ongoing cases of unfair distribution of land plots by the leadership and employees of local executive authorities, self-government bodies, agricultural farms, and private individuals.

During inspections, violations were identified by 161 officials, including 5 employees of executive authorities, 4 architects, 25 employees of the land management committee, 55 employees of the state registration of real estate, and 65 chairmen and engineers of public developers.

"The criminal cases for illegal alienation of land, document forgery, and fraud have been initiated against 7 farm managers," the president reported.

Meanwhile, according to the head of the state, nearly 18 thousand hectares of illegally occupied and unlawfully transferred land plots have been restored to their original state. These lands were in areas such as Shahrinaw, Jabbor Rasulov, Bobojon Gafurov, Istaravshan, Panj, Vose, Devashtich, and Kanibadam. Criminal cases have been initiated in connection with these facts, totaling 13.
