The authorities of Tajikistan have condemned the terrorist attack on the headquarters of the Turkish state-run aerospace company in the outskirts of Ankara.

“We received the news of the terrorist attack on the headquarters of Turkish Aerospace Industries (TUSAS)  in the outskirts of Ankara with a feeling of deep sadness. Tajikistan strongly condemns this terrorist act, which resulted in the death and injury of civilians.  We extend our deepest condolences to the families who lost their loved ones and wish a speedy recovery to those injured," reads a statement released by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Tajikistan Wednesday night.

Media reports say armed assailants launched a deadly terror attack on Turkey’s state-run aerospace company near Ankara on October 23.

Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya was cited as saying that at least five people were killed and 22 others injured in the terrorist attack on the Turkish Aerospace Industries (TUSAS) headquarters in the outskirts of Ankara.  Two attackers – a man and a woman – were killed, he added.

Turkish Vice President Cevdet Yılma said that among the dead are four TUSAS employees and the taxi driver who drove the assailants to the facility.

TUSAS is one of Turkey's major companies specializing in defense and aviation manufacturing. Its projects include the TAI TF Kaan, Turkiye's first domestically produced combat aircraft.  Al Jazeera reports that some 15,000 people work at the TASUS campus in Kahramankazan.
