Employees of the investigative department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the city of Dushanbe detained a 32-year-old resident of the capital, Sodik Hikmatulloevich Odinaev, who was wanted for fraud on an especially large scale. This was reported by the press service of the metropolitan police department.

According to the investigation, as the head of the construction company Jamol-Basir LLC, Odinaev deceived more than 160 people, appropriating a total of about 50 million somoni invested by shareholders in housing construction.

"The suspect sold the same apartment from 3 to 7 times to different persons, committing fraud on an especially large scale," the Ministry of Internal Affairs reports.

A criminal case has been opened against him under part 4 of Article 247 ("Fraud") of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Tajikistan.

A preventive measure in the form of detention was chosen in relation to the detainee. The investigation continues.
