Tajikistan
,” Tajik President Emomali Rahmonov remarked at a meeting with journalists during the meeting on the establishment of the international water-energy consortium that was held in
Dushanbe
on January 16.
According to him, the project managers have removed some existing shortcomings and now the project is being implemented according to schedule.
On the construction of the Roghun station, Rahmonov noted that yesterday he met in
Dushanbe
with Oleg Deripaska, head of RusAl company to discuss the work in this direction.
“I think they will submit the final version of the feasibility on the Roghun station in March this year,” the president said, adding that RusAl has already provided US$60 million for the implementation of the project this year.
“The construction of the Roghun station has started and it will continue. We need US$560 million for putting into operation two generators,” Rahmonov said, noting that the total budget for the construction of the Roghun station is US$2.5 billion.
“Under the agreement RusAl will construct the first line of the Roghun hydropower plant and we have to find funds for the construction of the second and the third lines,” said Rahmonov, “We intend to drum up funds of international financial institutions and private companies to speed up the construction process.” “The Roghun station will allow
