QURGHON TEPPA, February 23, Asia-Plus – The Khatlon regional court has sentenced former labor migrant, resident of the Kolkhozobod district (Khatlon province) Sadriddin Jumayev, to 25 years in prison.  The sentenced followed his conviction on charges of murder (Article 104 of Tajik Criminal Code) and robbery (Article 249).

 The judge with the Khatlon regional says, “In accordance with Articles 72 and 73 of the CIS Convention on Legal Status and Legal Relations on Civil, Family and Criminal Cases of

January 22 1993

criminal case instituted against Jumayev in the Russia Federation had been handed over to the Khatlon regional court, which has considered this case.”  

The judge has also told Asia-Plus that Jumayev seized from Archilashvili’s house money in an amount equivalent to 11,950 Somonis (nearly US$4,000) and under the court’s ruling this amount will be paid to the relatives of the victims at the expense of confiscation of the criminal’s properties.  “Besides, another accessory to this crime Asokhuja Gadoyev is currently wanted by police,” the judge said.
