DUSHANBE, September 21, 2010, Asia-Plus  — Muhiddin Kabiri, leader of the Islamic Revival Party also member of the Majlisi Namoyandagon (Tajikistan’s lower chamber of parliament), held a number of meetings with voters in Panjakent, Ayni and Kuhistroni Mastchoh districts, Sughd province on September 13-15, according to IRP’s head office in Dushanbe.

The voters were mostly interested in issues related to problems facing Tajik labor migrants in Russia, rise in prices of goods and services in the country, role and place of religion in society, as well as the August 23 jailbreak, the source said.

Answering to the question about the jailbreak, Kabiri noted that the incident was a floorer to society and “this case must sober up all.”

On the relations between Tajik authorities and religion, IRP leader noted some representatives of Tajik authorities now accused Islam of all shortcomings existing in society.

During a meeting with residents of the village of Putkhin in Ayni district that was severely affected by floods, Kabiri handed over his party’s monetary aid to them.
