DUSHANBE, September 21, 2010, Asia-Plus  — Alovuddin Davlatov is behind a September 19 attack on a military convoy in Rasht district.

Husniddin Davlatov, the brother of Alovuddin Davlatov, stated this on the Tajik national television yesterday evening.

According to Husniddin Davlatov, Alovuddin Davlatov himself and a number of his supporters participated in the attack.

“In all, Alovuddin has more than 100 people under his authority, including foreign mercenaries,” said Husniddin Davlatov, “He organized a terrorist training camp in the mountains of Rasht, where he has instructed young people and teenagers in methods of subversive activities.”

Husniddin said he has received orders from his brother for acquisition of uniforms and substances necessary for making explosives several times.

At the end of his statement, Husniddin Davlatov condemned actions of his brother that undermine peace and stability in the country.

It is to be noted that Husniddin Davlatov, who is activist of the Islamic Revival Party (IRP) and one of two IRP members in the Rasht district legislature (Majlis), was detained in Dushanbe on September 10 on suspicion of having contacts with the banned Salafiya group.
