DUSHANBE, September 17, 2010, Asia-Plus — 14 coalfields now operate in Tajikistan, according to the Ministry of energy and Industries (MoEI).
The source at MoEI says they produce 184,000 tons of coals per year. “Organizations subordinate to the ministry will set up 171 coal-selling outlets will be set up across the country by November 1,” said he, “Besides, under agreement reached between the ministry ad local authorities 1,734 other coal-selling shops will be organized in the regions.”
To-date, nearly 10,000 tons of coals have been sold to the federally funded organizations and more than 61,500 tons of coals have been sold to the private sector.
