DUSHANBE, August 11, Asia-Plus – The prices for flour and wheat are rising artificially in Tajikistan. According to experts of the Ministry of Economy and Development and Trade of RT (MEDT) most of sellers, having taken advantage of a current situation in the grain world market, have solved it to own advantage.

«Consequently the prices for the import flour began to rise sharply, – has noted a source. – Dissemination of the information on rising of prices for a flour in Russia has caused an agiotage among the people and this fact also has caused for rising of prices in home market of Tajikistan».

According to MEDT, for the first half-year 2010, 144,6 thousand tons of flour has been delivered (with the account of the flour delivered as the humanitarian help) to Tajikistan, on 40,7 thousand tons (21,9 %) less than last year of semiannual measure.

According to norms of physiological requirement for each per capita in a year it is necessary bakery production in volume of 137 kg. Under the statistical data in 2010 the population size was 7 million 616 thousand peoples, according to mentioned fact flour requirement is 1 million 43 thousand tons or in the ratio to grain – 1 million 429 thousand tons.

As experts predicated, this year wheat manufacture in the country is expected in volume of 917 thousand tons. Because of insufficient manufacture of wheat in the Republic and for complete supply of the population with a flour and wheat the given production is imported from Kazakhstan and Russia.
