QURGHON TEPPA, July 3, 2010, Asia-Plus — Young woman from the city of Sarband in Khatlon province has sold her newborn baby to childless pair for 300 somoni.

The deputy prosecutor of Qurghon Teppa, Mahmadsaid Nasimov, told Asia-Plus that the 20-year-old Sh.G. delivered a baby son at the maternity house in Qurghon Teppa on February 14 this and the same day, she sold him to the Qahhorov family for 300 somoni.

The Qurghon Teppa prosecutor’s instituted criminal proceedings against Sh.G. and the pair on June 30 and an investigation is under way.
