Dushanbe. June 17. “Asia – Plus” — Overall debt owed by “Tajiktransgaz” to “Uztransgaz” for consumption of natural gas as of June 1 this year makes $800,000, the Tajik gas-distributing agency told the AP.

According to the source, this debt has accumulated at the expense of industrial enterprises. “Sughd’s “Lal” glass-manufacturing plant alone owes us nearly $1 million,” the source said.

The source said that in the past five months this year Tajikistan imported 75 million 733 cubic meters of natural gas from Uzbekistan.

“According to preliminary agreement with our Uzbek colleagues, we expected to import 101 million cubic meters of natural gas, but, unfortunately, fuel supply was limited due to financial problems,” the source has said.

According to the source, under the contract Tajikistan should import 250 million cubic meters of “blue fuel” in 2010 from Uzbekistan at the generally recognized price of $240 per 1000 cubic meters.
