WASHINGTON. June 7. “Asia-Plus” – At least 20 Tajik students gathered early in the morning on June 4 near Uzbekistan’s embassy in Washington urging Uzbekistan’s government to remove transport blockade of Tajikistan.

The protesters were about to hand an open letter addressed to Uzbekistan’s President Islam Karimov to Uzbek diplomats but the embassy called the police, organizers of the protest told the AP.

Two police vehicles which arrived shortly after the phone call did not stop the action which continued till the end of the day. By the evening text of this letter, pictures and video were placed on web-forum of Tajiks in the United States at
