QURGHON TEPPA, May 6, 2010, Asia-Plus — Customs officers seized 465 grams of heroin at the Kulob airport on May 2, according to the Khatlon customs directorate.
An inspection of passengers on the flight Kulob-Moscow found 465 grams of heroin in a luggage belonging to the resident of the Farkhor district, Aslam Boymatov. “Several packages containing 465 grams of heroin were hidden in Tajik national bread (flat round cakes called ‘non’),” the source said.
Criminal proceedings have been instituted against Boymatov and an investigation is under way. The Khatlon transportation prosecutor’s office is investigating the case.
