DUSHANBE, April 20, 2010, Asia-Plus  — Dushanbe’s Economic Court has handed down ruling to revoke operating licenses from two Tajik mining companies, Amirkhoja Ghoibnazarov, the chairman of Tajikistan’s High Economic Court, remarked at a news conference in Dushanbe.

Ghoibnazarov did not specify from which companies the licenses were revoked.  “These companies violated the terms of getting licenses and the Main Geology Directorate applied to the court for revocation of licenses from them,” he noted.

We will recall that the Main Geology Directorate head Azim Ibrohim told reporters in Dushanbe on April 13 that the Main Geology Directorate “plans to apply to relevant structures for revocation of licenses from …three Tajik companies including Avesta (license for exploration of the talc deposit in the Ishkashim district, Gorno Badakhshan), Nourafzoi Shirin (license for exploration of coalfield in the Jirgatol district), and Saymiri (license for exploration of coalfield in the Fayzobod district).”

In the meantime, Tajikistan’s High Economic Court has considered 107 cases for a total amount of more than 3.472 million somoni over the first three months of this year and 104,272 somoni in state due have been transferred to the country’s budget, according to Ghoibnazarov.
