Tajikistan, Hungary to establish cooperation in the field of processing industry

DUSHANBE, November 26, 2009, Asia-Plus  — Chairman of Tajikistan’s Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI), Sharif Said, yesterday met with General Consul of Hungary in Kazakhstan, Silard Teleki, and Counselor for Economic Affairs in the General Consulate of Hungary in Kazakhstan, Janos Roka, according to the CCI press service.

In the course of the talks, the sides discussed state and prospects of further expansion of economic cooperation between Tajikistan and Hungary.

Hungarian diplomats outlined sectors like tourism and public health as well as use of Hungarian experience in use of thermal and mineral springs as areas of which could drive the bilateral trade between the two countries.

Mr. Roka noted that Hungarian companies were seeking business partners in Tajikistan and handed informational materials about three Hungarian companies operating in the spheres of telecommunications, investment and intermediary to Sharif Said.

For his part, the CCI head noted that Tajikistan and Hungary could also cooperate in the field of processing industry.  Hungary has good experience in processing fruits and vegetables and this experience could be used for development of the processing industry in Tajikistan, he said.  According to him, Hungarian and Tajik entrepreneurs could launch joint ventures for processing aluminum, cotton and farm produce in Tajikistan.

Sharif Said also proposed to hold a business forum with participation of representatives of business communities of Tajikistan and Hungary in Dushanbe.

Hungarian diplomats invited Tajik entrepreneurs to visit Hungary in order to familiarize themselves with its industrial opportunities and possible business partners, the CCI press service said.
