DUSHANBE, March 6, Asia-Plus — Tajikistan’s Supreme Court today began trial of case of Jamshed Samadov, former deputy chief of the Jabborrasulov Police Directorate and former commander of “SOBR” Special Operations of the Sughd Police Department.
According to information from the Supreme Court, Jamshed Samadov faces charges under seven articles of Tajikistan’s Criminal Code, ranging from abuse of power to drug trafficking.
“The investigation has established that the defendant abusing his power illegally used his subordinates as bodyguards,” said the source, “Besides, in February last year, Samadov together with his bodyguards Izzatullo Lutuflloyev, Mahmadsaid Boboyev and Jumakhon Kajaliyev severely beat A. Gulov in Khujand, inflicting serious bodily injuries on him.”
The investigation has also established that Jamshed Samadov was involved in drug trafficking, according to the source. He also faces of charges of illegal entrepreneurship and bigamy.
