Ministry of Justice must tighten control over execution of judicial decisions, says HEC chairman

DUSHANBE, April 19, 2011, Asia-Plus – The Ministry of Justice must tighten control over execution of judicial decisions in the country, Amirkhoja Ghoibnazarov, Chairman of Tajikistan’s High Economic Court (HEC), remarked at a news conference in Dushanbe on April 19.

“Since 2008, the Ministry of Justice has been responsible for controlling execution of judicial decisions in the country,” said Ghoibnazarov, “The Economic Court controls execution of judicial decisions as far as possible, but it is not enough.  If the control over execution of judicial decisions is not tightened, execution of rulings handed down by courts against those or other persons will drag on for a long time.”

“Over the first three months of this year, the High Economic Court of Tajikistan has considered 107 cases and 37 complaints and applications by way of supervision,” said the HEC head.  “The court has considered statements of claim for a total amount of more than 214.29 million somoni and US$280,339 over the report period, and the statements of claim for 189.172 million somoni and US$1,614 have been sustained.  3.689 million somoni of state duties have been transferred to the national budget over the same three-month period.”

The High Economic Court of Tajikistan is one of three top-tier court systems in the country.  It operates for the purpose of fulfilling economic obligations and the mandate of the High Economic Court includes the resolution of disputed rising during the implementation of economic obligations.
