DUSHANBE, August 26, 2011, Asia-Plus — During Friday’s visit to Rasht district, President Emomali Rahmon met with local residents.

According to the presidential press service, the head of state attended a ceremony of an official opening of a new school in the Qalanak jamoat.  More than 4 million somoni have been allocated from the national budget for construction of the school that will accommodate pupils from the villages of Qalanak, Belgi, Khoufak, Safedkhok and Shahrinav.

During a meeting with residents of these villages, Rahmon explained them the necessity of the adoption of the law on holding parents responsible for their children’s action and education.

During his stay in Rasht district, President Rahmon also attended a ceremony of introduction of a small Sangikar hydroelectric power plant (HPP) with capacity of 1,000 kW into operation, the source added.
