Heads of CIS security and intelligence services gather in Dushanbe for meeting

DUSHANBE, November 10, 2011, Asia-Plus  — Senior representatives of the CIS security and intelligence services have gathered in Dushanbe for their 12th meeting that is opening here today, the State Committee for National Security (SCNS) public relations center reports.

The meeting participants are expected to discuss topical issues related to bilateral and multilateral cooperation as well as priorities of partnership between the security and intelligence services of the CIS member nations.

The main objective of the meeting is in promoting improvement of fight against external challenges and threats of international terrorism, religious and political extremism as well as other illegal phenomena, the source said.

Nozirjon Bouriyev, a spokesman for the SCNS public relations center, noted that representatives of security and intelligence services from all the CIS member nations arrived in Dushanbe for meeting that is concluding today evening.
