DUSHANBE, January 31, 2012, Asia-Plus  — On Monday January 30, Sharif Said, Chairman of Tajikistan’s Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI), met here with Mr. Riccardo Manara, Ambassador of Italy to Tajikistan with residence in Tashkent, the CCI press center reported.

The sides, in particular, considered issues related participation of Tajikistan in Expo 2015, the next scheduled Universal Exposition after Expo 2010 that will be hosted by Milan.  Expo 2015 will be held under the theme “Feeding the Planet, Energy for Life.”

In the course of the talks, Shari Said briefed Italian diplomat on priorities of Tajikistan’s economy, cooperation of CCI with the Chamber of Commerce of Venice and the Italian Institute for Foreign Trade.

The Italian Institute for Foreign Trade (ICE), also known as Italian Trade Commission, is the government agency entrusted with promoting trade and business.  ICE has organized training courses for Tajik businesspeople in Dushanbe.  Tajik CCI head noted that Tajikistan was interested in continuation of training courses for Tajik businesspeople.

The sides also considered bilateral cooperation between Tajikistan and Italy in sectors like energy, mining, light industry, construction, agriculture, telecommunications, and tourism, the CCI press center reported.
