Dushanbe expresses gratitude to Kabul for assistance with release of Tajik national

DUSHANBE, February 7, 2012, Asia-Plus – On Tuesday February 7, Tajik Foreign Minister Hamrokhon Zarifi had a telephone conversation with his Afghan counterpart Zalmai Rasoul, the Tajik MFA information department reports.

Zarifi, in particular, appreciated Afghan foreign minister’s support for release of Tajik national from Afghan prison.  We will recall that Tajik national Yakov Tsoi was released from the Pul-e-Charkhi prison on February 6.

In the course of the talks, the two discussed preparations for the Fifth Regional Economic Cooperation Conference on Afghanistan (RECCA V) that is expected to take place in Dushanbe from March 26-27.

They also considered issues related to regional infrastructure development projects that will be submitted for consideration to the conference participants.

Zarifi and Rasoul also discussed preparations for International Navrouz Day that will be held this year in Dushanbe, the source said.
