A meeting of the Central Asian civil society organizations to build a network of regional non-governmental organizations will be held from 25th to 29th of May 2012 in the Sughd Region of Tajikistan, at the Training Center of the National Bank of the Republic of Tajikistan, located in Shahristan district.

The main purpose of the event is to develop a mechanism for joint action of stakeholders and constructive cooperation with the governments to increase growth / potential of food processing industries in Central Asia, and strengthening regional cooperation, trust and partnership in Central Asia.

Non-governmental organizations from five countries of Central Asia (Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan and Tajikistan) will participate in the work on the establishment of the network. At present, the initiative to form a network is supported by eleven non-governmental organizations in the region.

The event is organized by the international non-governmental organization Hilfswerk Austria International in close cooperation with its Central Asian partners, and with the financial support from the European Union within the framework of the Central Asia – Invest II programme.

The project aims at promoting regional cooperation in Central Asia and integration into the global economy.
