DUSHANBE, November 4, 2008, Asia-Plus  — On Tuesday November 4, President Emomali Rahmon received Mr. Aksel Schimmelpfennig, the head of the International Monetary Fund’s (IMF) mission to Tajikistan. 

Speaking to reporters after a meeting with the Tajik had of state, Schimmelpfennig said that they had discussed state and prospects of further expansion of cooperation  between the IMF and the Government of Tajikistan.  “We, in particularly, discussed the results of audit conducted in Barqi Tojik power holding and ongoing special audit in the National Bank of Tajikistan (NBT),” the IMF mission head said, noting that the special audit in the central bank will be completed by the end of this year.  

On the audit of transparency of activity of Tajik Aluminum Plant (Talco), he said that  the tender for conducting the audit had been announced and the auditing company would be determined soon.
