DUSHANBE, January 30, Asia-Plus — In 2005, Tajikistan’s Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI) rendered services for a total mount of more than 1.47 million Somonis, which is 279,100 Somonis more compared to the previous year, the Tajik CCI head Sharif Saidov announced at a news conference in Dushanbe on January 27.  

He also told journalists that last year, they set up Information Center containing more than 5,000 materials about business throughout the world.   Saidov also noted that 47 representations of the Tajik CCI had been opened in 47 countries across the world.

Tajikistan’s CCI launched appeals for cooperation to 180 member countries of the United Nations.  The Tajik CCI concluded 160 agreements with chambers of commerce and industries from the Russian Federation, Ukraine and other CIS states, as well as India, Iran, Afghanistan, Pakistan, China, Mongolia, and South Africa, as well as with the World’s Chamber of Commerce, according to the Tajik CCI head. 

Speaking to journalists Sharif Saidov noted that interstate exhibition dedicated to the 15

anniversary of the establishment of the CIS would be held in Moscow in October this year.  A series of roundtable meetings on economic cooperation between the CIS states are supposed to be held on sidelines of the exhibition, according to him.
