DUSHANBE, February 2, Asia-Plus — A Tajik economic delegation comprising representatives from the president’s executive office, industries ministry, central bank and chamber of commerce and industry visited the Czech Republic in late January to discuss with Czech authorities further expansion of trade and economic cooperation between Tajikistan and the Czech Republic.

According to information from Tajikistan’s Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI), during their stay in Prague members of the Tajik economic delegation met with Josef Hoidar, head of the economic commission within Czech parliament.  In the course of the talks Mr. Hoidar noted that Czech companies dealing with top processing aluminum and cleaning sewage were keen on establishment of business relations with Tajikistan.  

The CCI source notes that one of Czech private companies – joint-stock company “INECON Group” has already been cooperating with the Dushanbe cement plant investing more than US$80 million in modernization of this plant.  

While visiting the Czech city of Humpolak (central Czech) representatives from the Tajik delegation familiarized themselves with technology of production of Bohemian glass and held talks with Jan Gronik, an official with the Czech Ministry of Industry and Commerce.  In the course of the talks the sides reached an agreement on holding of an exposition of catalogues of goods produced in the Czech Republic, according to the source. 

The visit of the Tajik economic delegation to the Czech Republic has resulted in signing of a cooperation agreement between chambers of commerce and industry of the two countries.
